About the Instructor - Singer
Dr. Heffner has appeared in opera, oratorio and recitals across the United States and in Europe. She attended the prestigious Aspen Summer Music Festival, Neil Semer Vocal Institute and the Bay Area Summer Opera Theatre Institute.
Dr. Heffner performed the title role of Benjamin Britten's The Rape of Lucretia, which won first place in the National Opera Association Opera Production Competition. Additional roles include Amastre in George Frederic Handel's Xerxes, Estelle Oglethorpe in John Musto's Later the Same Evening, Second Lady in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute, Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte, and Mrs. Herring in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring. Dr. Heffner portrayed the title role in the United States World Premiere of George Frederic Handel's Silla. She was also selected as a semi-finalist in the Young Patroness of the Opera/Florida Grand Opera Vocal Competition.
